Monila Khullar, MD
, 38, of West Hartford, beloved wife for 13 years of Arvind Suri, MD, passed away on Friday, (January 25, 2013) at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Amritsar, India on February 4, 1974, daughter of Prof. Romesh Chander and Uma (Kumari) Khullar, she had lived in Amritsar and New Delhi, India before moving to the United States to complete her residency and fellowship at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. Dr. Khullar loved children and was passionate about her work. She was a true nature lover, loved being outdoors with her son. For the last two years she worked as a pediatric pulmonologist at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and daughter. Besides her husband and her parents, she leaves a son, Anmay Suri of West Hartford; two sisters, Samina Dhawan, MD and her husband Munish Dhawan, MD of New Delhi, India, and Rubina Mahajan, MD and Ramit Mahajan, MD of Amritsar, India; a niece, Kavya Dhawan; a nephew, Abhinav Dhawan; her father and mother-in-law, Vijay Suri, MBBS and Tripta Suri, MBBS of New Dehli, India; and a brother-in-law, Anuj Suri, DDS and his wife Tamanna Suri of Denver, CO. A Funeral Puja will be held on Thursday, 1 pm, at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor CT.
